Linksys and Vonage Team Up with Trade-In Program

site update | 11 Jun 2006 CST | pip
To promote the new WRTP54G, Linksys and Vonage have teamed up. Calling the trade-in program "G for Free". First, buy a WRTP54G. Then, sign up for Vonage and stay active for 90 days. After 90 days, you can send in a rebate and Linksys will give you $50. Do the following, but also send in your old wireless router and get $100. Which means you can get the WRTP54G for $29.99 after rebates and trade-in. Not a bad deal. However, the WRTP54G does not appear in the GPL area. Which means, unless they simply haven't added the WRTP to the GPL center, that you can't flash third-party firmware to the WRTP. For more details, visit http://www.linksys.com/tradein
