| According to FCC documents, Linksys is about to release the WVC200, streaming web cam. It appears to be a huge improvement over it's older, WVC54G. The WVC200 features full pan, tilt, and zoom. It supports 802.11b/g and LAN. The video can be viewed from software or via a browser. It appears it only supports Internet Explorer. The included software lets you view up to 9 WVC200s, and includes motion-based recording. You can select the "Patrol" button which moves the camera over a preset area repeatly. The camera supports up to 640x480 at a 4000kbps bitrate. A price has yet to appear but similar cameras sell for $200-400. A great item for those worried about security, or those who want to check in on their cat. |
